Whirlpool India Ltd. in Ranjangaon is one of Whirlpool Corporation's manufacturing facilities located in Maharashtra, India. This facility is involved in the production of various home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, and other appliances
Challenges
Whirlpool refrigerator production and testing area having around 3.5 Lakh Sq.ft with installed normal fresh air and turbo vnetilators. System has designed and installed aroung 1998 with normal 6 Air changes norms. Enclosure resting facility connected 7000 KW heating load and scattered with normal air which causes inside temperature more than 39 deg c and operator feel discomfort. Area having number of hot pocket due to Machine occupied.
Key Initiatives
We Converted normal ventilation fresh air RCC constructed room to single stage evaporative cooling by adding Celdek Pad section. All dropper replaced with new Jet diffuser. Clientele need solutions with existing system so we implemented HVLS fans 16 Nos to increase more skin velocity. Maximum cooled air directed towards HVLS. Total 10 Lakh CFM frresh cooled air help with 80 Lkh Recirculating air by HVLS.
Key Impacts
Plan maintained at 32 deg c Temperature with skin velocity more than 1 m/s at every point. New HVLS concept optimised the power consumption by 60%. Old 20 year back dated system utilised and delivering similar performance like New type of single stage evaporative coolers.
